Why St. Augustine is Perfect for Engagement Photos
When it comes to engagement photography in Florida, few places are as captivating as St. Augustine. Known as the oldest city in the United States, St. Augustine offers a dreamy blend of cobblestone streets, historic architecture, lush greenery, and coastal charm. Whether it’s the iconic Castillo de San Marcos, the Spanish colonial buildings, or the hidden courtyards tucked away behind ivy-covered walls, the city provides endless opportunities for couples to capture timeless engagement photos. It’s one of my absolute favorite locations because every corner has a story—and that’s exactly what Cameron and Nataly wanted for their session.
A Love Story Rooted in Faith and Friendship
Cameron and Nataly’s story began in a way that feels like something straight out of a movie. It all started at a Christmas party in 2021, where Cameron first noticed Natalie dressed as an elf, lighting up the room with her kindness and smile. Although he was immediately smitten, he didn’t work up the courage to speak to her that night. Over the months that followed, Cameron found himself intentionally seeking out small ways to get to know her better—sharing sunset pictures, late-night conversations in the Caf, and even a not-quite-a-date dinner at M-Shack.
But Natalie, committed to honoring her faith and just coming out of a previous relationship, set a boundary known as “The May Rule”—choosing to remain single until May of the following year. While it wasn’t easy for Cameron to wait, his persistence and genuine heart never wavered. Their friendship grew deeper through countless adventures together: worship nights, coffee shop study sessions, missions trips, and even some unforgettable car pranks. Eventually, with the encouragement of close friends and much prayer, Natalie felt God’s peace in moving forward. And so, after months of waiting, Cameron finally asked her out—and she said yes.
Their relationship blossomed through seasons of long-distance while serving overseas, moments of joy, and challenges that deepened their love and faith. Through it all, Cameron knew Natalie was the one he wanted to commit his life to, so when the time was right, he asked her a life-changing question: “Will you marry me?”
A Couple Who Came Ready to Shine
One of the things that stood out most about Cameron and Nataly during their St. Augustine engagement session was how prepared they were. Before every session, we send our couples a series of helpful emails packed with tips on how to plan outfits, choose locations, and feel confident in front of the camera. Cameron and Nataly read every single one and it truly showed! They arrived looking amazing and completely at ease, which allowed us to focus on capturing their love story without distractions.

The Perfect Weather & Effortless Connection
St. Augustine blessed us with gorgeous weather—soft light, gentle breezes, and a golden glow that made every frame shine. As we explored the historic streets together, the couple naturally fell into their rhythm. Later, they shared how much they appreciated our simple and clear posing instructions, which allowed them to relax and simply enjoy being together.
As a wedding and engagement photographer, my goal is always to help couples feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Cameron and Nataly’s feedback was the best compliment: they never once felt self-conscious, and that ease translated beautifully into their photos.

Images to Treasure Forever
The final gallery is a stunning reflection of who Cameron and Nataly are as a couple—joyful, romantic, and deeply connected. They loved their images so much that they’re using several for their save-the-dates and wedding invitations for their 2025 wedding. There’s something incredibly special about knowing that these images will be the very first impression their guests will have of their celebration.

Why Engagement Sessions Matter
Engagement sessions are not just about beautiful photos (although you’ll absolutely get those!); they’re also about building trust and comfort with your photographer before the wedding day. Cameron and Nataly’s experience is the perfect example of why preparation and connection matter. When couples feel confident and guided, their photos radiate authenticity.
If you’re recently engaged and considering a St. Augustine engagement session, I would be honored to document your love story in this incredible city. Whether we’re exploring the historic district, strolling along the water, or finding hidden corners filled with charm, every session is a unique reflection of each couple.
